May I ask where you got the wig for bilbo and all his clothes and such for his cosplay? It's really great! :D

Hello!

Thanks a lot! ♥

I got the wig on ebay, but I can’t find it anymore, sorry :(( but I styled most of it myself anyway.
I made the clothes myself. ;)

What suit did you wear for your black widow cosplay?

Hi there!
I didn’t buy the suit, I made it myself. :)

x

That bob for your Tangled Ever After cosplay is wonderful! Is it a wig, or is that your real hair?

It’s a wig :) I bought it in an ebay shop called “Wig Fashion”, though I still had to cut and style it ^^

Your bilbo cosplay is amazing! How did you do the coat?

Hey there! :)

Thank you very much! <3

It is a bit hard to explain sewing an entire coat without pictures :( Do you have a more specific question?

I used a pattern that I had for Blazers and modified it a bit to look like a coat. I did the same for the lining.
It’s not like I can really explain that very well, sorry. :( Maybe there’s a tutorial on sewing coats somewhere on the net?
It was one of the more horrific things to sew though >_<

I’m only making a tutorial on Sting though. Sorry. :<

you making a toothiana cosplay?! woooooow thats gonna be amazing! cant wait to see it

Why thank you, Anon! <3 Oh I hope I’ll be able to do it!!! I love her so much *___* Though it’s gonna be a long time project, since it’s quite a lot of work! XD”

How did you make Belle's (yellow) dress did you use a pattern?

Sorry I made all the patterns myself :( I used some top patterns as a base but apart from that I made the patterns myself.

If it’s alright with you, I’ll just copy+paste what I wrote on cosplayisland about making this cosplay :)

Quote:

Since people of various English speaking communities have been asking, how I made the dress, I’ll try to explain parts of the process xD”

But beware of many mistakes, as I don’t know many “sewing words”. xD
Sorry for my crappy explanation in advance xD

For the dress I used about 12 metres of light yellow Satin fabric & 12 metres of light yellow Organza fabric for the shoulder part and the skirt and about 1,5 metres of golden-yellow Satin & 1,5 metres of golden Organza for the Top and the sashs (I hope that’s the right word).
I also used one zipper (obviously), 1 metre of white cotton fabric, 3 small pearls and 8 bigger pearls.

For every part of the dress I used one layer of Satin and one layer of Organza. I did that because, Satin on it’s own is way too shiny and doesn’t look as nice… cover it with the matching Organza and it looks great!

For the top I used a very common pattern made of 8 parts. And this is also where the cotton material was used.
I wore a corsett underneath and just sewed a normal top with one layer of cotton (which you can’t see), one layer of Satin and one layer of Organza. The cotton was used, because Satin & Organza are very thin fabrics and I needed something to stabilize the top.
Afterwards I sewed the shoulder part (the only part at this point, that I don’t really like) onto the top and glued the painted pearls in the middle.

The actually difficult part of the dress was the skirt of course. This was kind of a Try & Error Process as I had think up a way to sew this all on my own.
I was wearing a 5-Hoops-Skirt underneath.
The skirt is made out of 8 parts (each with one layer of Satin & Organza).
I cut out trapezium like shapes with a height of about 2,5 metres and a width of 1/8 of my waist for the top part of the trapezium and a bit more than 1/8 of the last hoop of the petticoat for the bottom part.
(that sounds confusing xD)
I sewed those 8 parts together and sewed the top onto it.
Than I gathered the skirt at each of the eight seams between the trapeziums until the skirt had the right length.
Than I rearranged the “crinkles” until it looked good and fixed the gathering with zigzag stiching.
About the last 10 centimetres I didn’t gather up, but left them straight, so that I could properly shorten the hem.
Afterwards all that was left to do were the sashs, which were easy to make.

The gloves were bought on eBay!

Sorry for my crappy explanations, I hope it might be useful to someone XD

Sorry to bother you, but I was going through your posts about your (amazing) Black Widow cosplay and followed the link to the fabric you used, but the site says the page doesn't exist. I don't know any German so I'm not sure if they've got the same fabric somewhere else on the site or if they just don't carry it anymore. Help? Thank you in advance. :)

Sorry, it seems like they don’t sell that fabric anymore. :(

Hello! I saw your Black Widow cosplay and I simply luv it *_* soo good! I'd like to make her cosplay in November, can u tell me where u have found the WIG and the costume? Expecially the wig, I don't know how to find a similar one... :(( thank u sooo much, love all the photos!! great job!!!

If you look through my Cosplay ask tag you’ll see that I’ve answered the wig question before ;) and the costume is self-made! :)

Hi i was thinking about cosplaying Psylocke from the Xmen and your Black Widow cosplay would be a really great template for the outfit! I was wondering if you were going to make a tutorial (since i saw you mentioned that) or if you have any recommendations or tips for creating a bodysuit from scratch? If you google "kris anka psylocke design" you can see the image i want to make the costume from. Thank you so much if you can help at all!

Hi there! :)

I still want to finish and upload that tutorial. I just haven’t found the time for that yet :(

Giving general tips is never easy. Do you have a specific question?

Bodysuits are actually quite easy to make. First and most important thing is to chose the right fabric. Of course it has to look nice, but it’s important that it’s very elastic fabric, that - if possible is elastic in every “direction”.

After that you have to make a pattern. I’m sure you can buy catsuit patterns and modify them. I usually make my patterns myself from scratch.
Usually catsuits are made six parts (Two front parts head to toe, two back parts head to toe and 2 sleeves). Maybe seven if you add a collar.
If your character is wearing a belt you can theoretically make pants and top seperately and then sew them together and hide the seam with the belt. That way you can make the front out of one part and don’t have a seam in the middle.

If you have problems imagining what the pattern should look like, it’s actually not the worst idea to lay down and let someone draw around you and then cut that shap in half ;) It should give you the general idea of what the pattern should look like. :) good luck!

where did you get the belt for your batgirl cosplay?

I made it myself out of yellow foam sheeting ;)
